Nearpod Lessons for the Week of April 6-10

Hi. The Science Nearpod covers a standard we haven't covered yet. It starts with the Rock Cycle and moves into other elements of Earth activity.

I recommend the student taking his/her time looking at the slides and the video. We have not covered the material. There is some work in the packet that matches the lesson.

(8) and carry out investigations that demonstrate the chemical and physical processes that form rocks and cycle Earth’s materials (e.g., processes of crystallization, heating and cooling, weathering, deformation, and sedimentation).

(10) Use research-based evidence to propose a scientific explanation regarding how the distribution of Earth’s resources such as minerals, fossil fuels, and groundwater are the result of ongoing geoscience processes (e.g., past volcanic and hydrothermal activity, burial of organic sediments, active weathering of rock).

Reading Nearpod---We were working on summarizing before we left school. This reading comprehension lesson works summarizing in the lesson.

 (RL 6.2) Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.
