The Week of December 7, 2015

Parents and Students, One phrase will probably be heard this week "FIELD TRIP!!" The students aren't the only ones who are excited about our trip to Atlanta, Georgia CNN and Aquarium--5th grade teachers are also. Our final schedule and notes will be sent home on Monday. Please read them. Even though excitement is in the air, we must continue to move forward with learning in the classroom. Topics covered this week are multiplying decimals by decimals and 1-2 digit division. *Parents please be mindful that I plan based on the students. There may be changes of one or two days due to the students and the scheduling of other school events. See you at 4:30 on Friday! Have a great week! :D

It's 2016 and I am excited about the great things that are in store for 2016! We will continue to work on long division this week. Tuesday will be a review day. Welcome to Sixth Grade! We hope to have a great year! We already have some exciting experiential learning activities scheduled and look forward to learning a lot and having a blast! Below are links to view our Fall field trip location at the Cahaba Environmental Center (CEC) in Montevallo, AL. Dates and details were sent home on Monday, Aug. 13. The clothing and equipment checklist and 3-day schedule went home with the students and will be uploaded here soon, at a later date. Students will wade in water at a comfortable level from their ankles to their mid-calf, no higher. Very old sneakers should be worn (for water and mud) and another pair that still work for regular outdoor purposes. New shoes are not recommended.
